  • How To Apply For Medical Assistance For Workers With Disabilities

    If you are a worker with a disability, you may be eligible for medical assistance through the Social Security Administration . To qualify, you must have a disability that prevents you from working and that is expected to last for at least one year or result in death.

    You can apply for medical assistance online or by mail. To start your application online, visit the SSA website and select Apply for Benefits. You will need to create an account and answer some questions about your disability. Once you have complete the online application, a SSA representative will contact you to schedule an appointment.

    If you prefer toapply by mail, download and print the SSAs Application for Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits form. Complete the form and mail it to your local SSA office. You can find the address of your local office on the SSA website.

    Once your application is received, the SSA will review your case and make a determination of whether you are eligible for benefits. If you are approved, you will begin receiving benefits within a few months.

    Types Of Disability Policies

    There are two types of disability policies.
